Birthday shave for Prostaid
Fundraising for PROSTAID

The last couple of years have made me understand that nobody is invincible and we are all affected in some way by cancer.
This particularly came to light back in August when my dad found out he had a pretty aggressive form of prostate cancer. No symptoms, no unhealthy lifestyle but luckily he is now recovering well after his operation. (P.s. PLEASE don’t miss your screening tests, whether it’s prostate, breast or smear; it may save your life! It definitely saved my dad’s and maybe mine too.)
My dad and mum have had incredible support from friends, family, the NHS (seriously - how fortunate are we to live in a country with this service?!) and from Prostaid.
So as a little token of gratitude I have decided to shave my hair on my birthday (25th January) to raise money for Prostaid. The response when telling people this has been ... mixed but it’s a pretty helpless feeling knowing you can’t do anything to stop cancer yourself, but hopefully this small thing can help Prostaid do their thing. Besides, if the only thing I have to worry about at the moment is how much I resemble an egg, I think I’ve got it pretty damn good compared to others!
I will also be creating a page to support Mind as this is another charity I think is doing some amazing work. We all have Mental Health, and will all have times when it isn’t as good as it should be. Mind gives amazing support and advice for us all to support one another when times are tough. So if you prefer to donate to Mind instead (or as well!) please click here:

I know Christmas has only just passed and we’re all feeling the pinch, but any donation will be massively appreciated and the money raised will help families and individuals through tough times that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Please dig deep - I’ll even let you rub me egg‘ead :)
