We support people living with HIV to ensure they live healthy lives

Story

So this year I turned 40 and decided to set myself a challenge. I am running the London Marathon to raise money for the Terrence Higgins Trust. My aim is to raise £1800 for this amazing charity.

I have chosen this charity because I want to raise awareness of all aspects of the Terrence Higgins Trust. I want to encourage people to talk about HIV and the consequences to this life threatening illness and stop the spread.

The Terrence Higgins Trust have drop in centres all over Britain and Ireland where anyone can go and be given free condoms and testing for STI’s. They offer sexual health advice and information.

It also does fantastic work supporting people with HIV and other STI’s. In Wales we are lucky that anyone diagnosed and their partners get treatment from NHS, however the Terrence Higgins Trust ensures that wherever you live in Britain you get access to this medication.

Another aspect of the Trust is to provide much needed support and counselling to people living with HIV and other STI’s and their family.
