Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  As many of you will know, Ken Pritchard and I were runners-up in Strictly Come Prancing in Edinburgh last September and Norman took part with Susie in the same event.  In a moment of madness, I agreed to take part in the Glasgow event which is taking place on the 4th of May and Norman agreed to be my partner.

We're being put through our paces by our fabulous dance teacher Sarah Huguet who takes no prisoners and is training us hard.  Whilst the event is about having fun, it is also to raise money for Aberlour who are Scotland's oldest childrens charity and do amazing work which  I have been fortunate enough to witness first hand during visits to several of their services last year.  Doing so was one of the most humbling experiences I've ever had and the dedication, love, support and care shown to these children and their families by the staff at Aberlour is incredible.

There are many people less fortunate than us, often through no fault of their own and every donation will help by going directly to the services to help these children and their families.  Every little helps, so please don't think that by making a small donation that it won't make a difference because it will.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you again for taking the time to visit our page and I hope you will support us as Norman and I continue with our training in the lead up to the 4th of May.  Not many sleeps to go now, yikes!!

About the charity

1 in 4 children are living in poverty in Scotland. That isn’t right. Not all children are born with an equal chance. We know that by working together we will beat poverty and discrimination. With your help, we will reach more children and their families earlier, before it’s too late.
