Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our daughter Raeah Shân was conceived through IVF and carried by my partners sister Shân as we had been unsuccessful  4 times previously.

The pregnancy went well other than a couple of very early scares. At the 20 weeks the midwife said the placenta was lying a little low and that we'd have another scan around 30 weeks. That scan showed the placenta had moved. A date was set for a c section on March 10th as this was how Shan had decided to deliver.  On march 5th (38 weeks and 2 days) it all went wrong. Shân lost a lot of blood but felt no pain. We all went to the hospital and we're eventually told there was no heart beat.
Raeah was born the next day and weighed 7lbs 12ozs,  she was so beautiful  but asleep forever.
Devastated, heart broken, lost, are all words that are used, but in reality nothing said can even come close to what we felt or still feel.
In June, following a placenta investigation,  we were told the cause of death was vasa praevia. We had never heard of it, the way the baby dies from this is just horrific. There were no warning signs, no nothing.
Every day is hard but we're getting through day by day.
We miss her every second.
