Thanks for taking a look at my page to raise money for the fantastic NORDOFF ROBBINS music charity dedicated to transform the lives of vulnerable children and adults.

I will be participating in the London South West TOUGH MUDDER, 10 miles of running through mud and obstacles. I will be putting self through training and a lifestyle change to get myself fit and ready to run, dive, climb and crawl my way to the end. Taking on some of the toughest obstacles such as.

  • Phoenix - This fiery obstacle will test your grit as you crawl through a smoky chute to get to the final flames: a 1.2 meter wall of blazing heat to jump over.
  • Arctic Enema - This obstacle arguably takes the most mental grit of them all. Some athletes use ice baths for recovery, but your muscles aren’t going to be relaxed after a swim in this freezing skip. Climb right into the floating iceberg abyss—don’t overthink it. When you’re submerged, find the mental and physical strength to swim through the ice, under a wooden plank and pull yourself out on the other end. You’ll come out feeling like shrink-wrapped leftovers straight out of the freezer. Emphasis on the shrink.
  • Electroshock Therapy - Run through a field of live wires that sure as hell don’t tickle. Watch out for hay bales and deep sinkholes, or you will face-plant into some electrifying mud.
  • Cage Crawl - Swim under 20 meters of cage with only inches of breathing room above your head.

And many more challenging tests of strength stamina and mental endurance.

During my training up to the event, I plan to upload via my YouTube channel, video blogs and updates of my training progression so you can follow me and see how well I get on.

I plan to also film as much of the run as possible for you to see how well I do in the event.

A BIT ABOUT ME:

My Name is Ben Gulvin, I'm a 31 year old Husband and Father from Portsmouth.

Im 6'1", 17stones of unfit mass. Due to my work I spend much of my day sat at my desk. As much as I love my work its time to shape up.

I work as a Sound Designer/Engineer for 750mph in London, where I first heard about Nordoff Robbins. Having viewed a beautiful film which showcases the wonderful work they do for all ages who deal with real challenges I really wanted to do something worthy to raise what I can.
