On 15th March I will be running the Bath Half marathon in aid of Mercy in Action. Mercy in Action works to alleviate the suffering of children living in poverty in the Philippines and the UK through feeding, education and shelter. Their aim is to see an end to the abandonment, abuse and trafficking of children, and to see their lives restored and their communities transformed.

Your donation will help fund initiatives such as the Petra Project in the UK, which provides nurturing homes for young mothers and their babies, and young people, who would otherwise be facing homelessness.

In the Philippines, their work centres around helping children to regain lost years by providing residential care, a schooling program and a drop-in centre for street children. Their professional staff work tirelessly to reunite families and enable them to have a future together.

Despite a less-than-ideal training block, which has seen me develop the knees of a 90-year old, and limp through many of my recent runs, I’m excited to get on the course and raise as much money as I can.
