Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page

My name is Binder, I am 57 year of age and live in Canada.  I have been blessed to have a great life , good health and family. Have been fortunate to have everything life has to offer. Having raised two boys now grown men that I am very proud of, I now have time to give back to those less fortunate. I happen to come across a cause that will allow me to give back and also fulfill a personal goal.

MY CHALLENGE: KILIMANJARO

In the last few months, I have set my sights on ' Nishkam Challenge Kilimanjaro Trek' to  climb the largest freestanding mountain in Africa.

WHY?

This is important part - Nishkam is  trying to save lives of mothers and babies in Kenya. There are many worthy causes in the world, however this struck something inside me. I was saddened and moved when I found out the horrible truth and conditions in Africa, especially what  mothers and their babies have to go through.

That is why I am raising funds for the maternity ward in the Kericho District Hospital in Kenya , I NEED YOUR SUPPORT.  I want to make a difference in Africa and with your support you will be making a difference for these mothers and their new born babies.

THE PROBLEM:

Kericho District Hospital is in the heart of the community- it desperately needs new facilities and equipment.  I was shocked to learn that babies and mothers die in this hospital as they do not have proper facilities many of these mothers and newborns have an uphill climb to survive. The sad fact is that many of them will not make it.

I was was born in India and raised in the UK, on a daily basis there is so much that I take for granted.  I was shocked to learn about the issues that the Africans have to deal with for treatments that we consider to be our birthright in western countries. Your support will help where it really matters to increase the odds of survival.

My mother  taught me something at very early age, I would like to share. To give from your heart all the time, be kind to all the people you meet, guide and advise people as you would your own family, give when you have lots and also give when you have less. My mother laid the foundation that our family stands on today, my family is blessed through her teaching..

WHAT AM I DOING ABOUT IT?

I am committed to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and am doing all I can to ensure that I succeed. I have been training , some of you already know some of the crazy things I've done in preparation,  a big thank you to all that have helped.  In the coming weeks I will be doing lots of local climbs to ensure I am as ready as I can be. You are welcome to join me on the next training hikes.

This page has launched my fundraising campaign - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

WHY SUPPORT ME?

The second (and very important) part of the challenge is  to raise money for this needy cause - I need YOU to support me so that we can make a real difference in Africa.  Please help me raise much needed funds for this project.  I really want do my best to help support this hospital.  You too can also support this fantastic cause.   PLEASE SUPPORT ME and DONATE NOW by hitting the donate button on this page.

My target is to raise at least  $5000.00 , for the first $2500.00 raised me and my family will match that to bring it to $5000.00. I hope to raise way over the target.

Unfortunately the NIshkam Challenge is registered in UK, your donation may not qualify for tax credit here in Canada, please consult your tax accountant.

There are many ways that you can support this project, just follow the below simples steps - it will just a take a few minutes:

1 - DONATE now - this is easy (no amount is too small or too large)
