Event: London Marathon 2018, on 22 April 2018
On 22 April 2018, Royal Museums Greenwich is proud to have 5 dedicated runners take part in the Virgin Money London Marathon in support of the world's sole surviving historic tea clipper - Cutty Sark.

Story

I have never enjoyed running and fitness more in my entire life, so when my daughter Mia's music teacher, Maryann, told me she had a place for me in the London Marathon, I couldn’t turn it down.  Maryann works at the charity and I am glad to be supporting maritime culture and history in Greenwich.   I'm also looking forward to this new challenge.

When we moved to Blackheath eleven years ago, I remember looking at the map in my A to Zed and seeing the brand of my Grandmother’s favorite scotch.......’CUTTY SARK’ just near Blackheath.   I was sure it was a sign we had found our home.   Thus, the Cutty Sark's preservation is important!   Thanks for supporting me and the Cutty Sark.  Bob
