Story
Hi I am Chris I am one of the vets working for the RSPCA Greater Manchester Animal Hospital. I have developed an orthopaedic surgery service which helps animals which are part of cruelty cases, stray animals, and those belonging to owners attending our hospital who cannot afford private vet fees.
Since starting this service 18 months ago we have helped 110 animals in various situations where orthopaedic surgery was necessary, from puppies and kittens with congenital joint problems, to strays with severe broken bones from road traffic accidents. In many of these cases the only alternative would have been limb amputation or even putting the pet to sleep, so this service is incredibly important. We have been able to help more pets than ever before, but we would still like to do more!
I created this page in order to fund a piece of surgical equipment that is more advanced that the one we are using now. It will allow us to operate more swiftly, with less trauma and more accuracy, which means better recoveries for our patients, and better outcomes overall. it will also enable us to help more animals and offer more advanced procedures than we are currently able to do.
Your donation will go directly towards funding this vital equipment, to help the animals that need it most.
Thank you
Chris
