The reason I am doing this is because my younger brother, David, died suddenly last November.   David enjoyed cycling and was interested in local charities and organisations which benefit the local community.

On 12th May 2019 I will be attempting the Fred Whitton cycling sportive in honour of David.

The Fred Whitton challenge is to cycle 112 miles in the Lake District, including six of the hardest passes in the UK.  The route is Grasmere, Ambleside, Kirkstone Pass, Patterdale, Keswick, Honister Pass, Buttermere, Newlands Pass, Whinlatter Pass, Loweswater, Cold Fell, Eskdale and then finishes with the brutal Hardknott & Wrynose Passes and Blea Tarn.

I hope to raise some funds for the Keswick mountain rescue team in memory of David and appreciate any contributions towards my goal.
