Story
2,340 donkeys in Kenya need your support today.
Around 1.8 million donkeys live in Kenya and they play a major role in the country’s economy.
Brooke estimates that about three-quarters of these donkeys have welfare issues and many of these are caused by poor harnessing, leading to wounds and lesions that can become infected and cause pains.
Project Cart aims to alleviate some of these problems in five regions. The team will work closely with youth groups to ensure equine welfare is prioritised. And they’ll work with local cart and harness makers to improve their skills and capacity.
These changes should lead to improved handling and harnessing practices, meaning better welfare for 2,340 donkeys in five regions of Kenya within the next year!
This project can only achieve its aims with your support. And by 7th June 2018 we need to be sure we have the funds in place for this project.
Today, you can help us get closer to our £22,977 target for Project Cart.
Please donate to help give working animals the care and support they deserve. Together, we can be unstoppable.
If Project Cart reaches its funding total or you give after 31st December 2018, your donation will be spent where the need is greatest.
Update: The five regions that this project will work in has changed to Meru, Kiambu, Nyandarau, Nakuru and Kajiado Urban
