Some of you may know my Dad passed away last year after a fight with cancer. At the time I was training to run a half marathon and I wanted him to choose the charity I should fundraise for. He looked at me in total seriousness and asked me to save the hedgehogs in his memory. I said to him that perhaps as he was unwell with cancer, it may be a bit more appropriate to do the run for a cancer charity, so he said 'OK then, Macmillan. I like green.'

But. I promised that if I *ever* do a big run again, of course it would be for the hedgehogs. I thought I was being clever as I never intended to do another half marathon.

So here we are. I like hedgehogs (I would prefer they share the hedge) but I have no real affinity beyond the whimsical last wishes of my Dad who I love dearly and miss very much. As I have been told 'they do need all the help they can get'. Please give generously.
