Fundraising for The Pituitary Foundation
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you already know and are probably sick of hearing - I've recently had neurosurgery to remove a pituitary tumour that was causing Cushing's disease. I'm not holding this because I want a pity party - I want to raise awareness and help The Pituitary Foundation to grow and support its patients that are isolated.
1 in 5 people in the UK have benign growths on their pituitary glands. 70,000 more suffer from serious conditions. The problem is, many people will never be diagnosed. Symptoms are vague and most GPs will never make the connection. You're told to "go home, get rest, you're eating too much, you're overweight". And let me tell you, that is so deflating.
Little things tear your life apart, for years. My diagnosis took over 5 years. I suffered from an invisible illness for far too long. I have been treated but there is no cure.
I am fighting to raise awareness, I want fewer to suffer in silence. That's why I need your help, your donations. Whether it be coming to the event I am organising for 4th November. Whether it's buying a raffle ticket. Whether it's just simply donating a bit of spare change to the cause. Why not, all three?!
