Byte Night is the business and technology industry sleep out in aid of Action for Children.

Action for Children is a national charity working in local communities throughout the UK, to protect and support the young and vulnerable, as they grow up. 

The charity supports over 300,000 children and families in over 650 services, from children’s centres to intensive family support, from fostering and adoption to respite care for children with disabilities.

Each year thousands of individuals and teams from the technology and business sectors give up their beds for one night to help change young people’s lives, and sleep out to raise both money and awareness.

It all began 17 years ago when 30 individuals from the IT industry slept out and raised £35,000. Since then Byte Night has grown to over 1400 sleepers and are now the biggest charity sleep-out in the UK, raising over £1 million in 2013.

On Friday 3 October 2014, Byte Night will be in 8 locations across the UK including Belfast, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Midlands, London, North West, South West and Thames Valley, with sleeper teams from over 300 companies.
