Olga lives in the Zhabinka District of Brest, Belarus. She is 12 years old and has a chronic skin condition which means that she must have expensive dressings which cannot be purchased in Belarus and must be ordered from the manufacturer.  Although the Belarus Government give some financial help, it costs around £1,200 per year to purchase these dressings for Olga. The family have a low income. The average wage in Belarus is about £140 per month. Olga does not attend school which means that her mother cannot work and so the family are dependent upon father's income. Even with the extended family helping financially, finding the money to buy Olga's dressings leaves them with very little disposable income. Olga has already lost her toes and fingers as the result of her condition, and she will never be able to travel to the UK for a health break from the radiation that surrounds her.

Olga is a very talented young poet and has had poetry published in local media. Here is a poem she wrote for our Link. It's like a wish:

"I want your children not to know war and troubles. Let them live with parents, in houses with food and clothes. Let their lives be always happy and without troubles. Let them never cry. Let them smile and shine happily as the sun in spring, and warm us always with their kindness."

Our Link is raising money to support Olga's parents to purchase the dressings she needs. The costs will increase as she gets older. We should also like to buy Olga a voice activated app for her computer. Please help us give Olga and her family the support they need.
