Jason and I are running the Manchester Marathon on the 7th April. Our first ever marathon! For some reason we both decided to train for a marathon at the same time...whilst attempting to look after 2 children...and work...and play hockey...etc etc! A definite challenge but something we are both determined to do.

We are raising money for 2 incredible charities that mean a lot to us.

SToRMS and Mind. 

Over the last few years several of our close friends have been affected by male suicide. Son's, brothers and fathers. We have seen how devastating an effect suicide has had on their lives. 

SToRMS  was set up by my lovely work colleague and his family after his son unexpectedly took his own life in 2015. Their mission is to reduce young male suicides through delivering sessions at schools and universities concentrating on key areas:

1) Facilitating widespread open discussions about suicide

2) Promoting mental well-being and emotional resilience from an early age

3) Challenging gender stereotypes that prevent men from accessing help

4) Highlighting the relationship between alcohol and mental wellbeing

Mental health is so important and we will all be affected at some point in our lives. We know that Mind have supported some of our friends and family recently through their difficult times so we were keen to raise some money for this amazing charity too.
