We take ill, and very deserving kids to visit Santa in magical Lapland.

Story

Once again, as part Carrickfergus Cycling Club's fundraising efforts in support of the N.I. Children to Lapland charity we are holding a “Lowest to Highest” event on Saturday 10th August 2019.

This involves club members walking from the deepest part of Northern Ireland which is the bottom of the Irish Salt Mines, a 3km walk from a depth of 450 metres (underground) followed by a 50 mile cycle down to Newcastle and then a climb up to our tallest mountain, Slieve Donard (around 850m high) all on the one day!

The walk will take around an hour to complete, the cycle run will aim for a 15mph average, again to accommodate as many members as possible and the climb should take around 4 hours (up and down total).

We would be extremely grateful for any support for this very worthwhile cause that provides a very special day for local children

many thanks

About the charity

We are an independent Northern Irish charity who give terminally ill, life limited and deserving children a magical day by taking them to visit Santa at his home in Lapland. For many of these special children it is sadly the last trip they will make. Charity Commission NI no. 103911
