As you all know Barney was my first love and we have spent many happy years together 12 in total. He walked me down the aisle and has always been my first-born, bringing us years of hilarity and mischief. He once stole the Christmas ham, ate half and stashed the rest in our bed for later!! 

He was recently diagnosed with a collapsed trachea and without the prompt action and care of the vet team at Queens Veterinary Hospital in Cambridge we would still be unaware of his condition. It has collapsed by 75% and his bronchioles by 50% so he struggles for breath at some points and has a prognosis of around a year as there is nothing that can be done. Of course, if things get much worse we will make sure that he is not suffering and will follow the advice of the experts. 

We are obviously devastated and I want to honour him by raising money for pets around the country who are treated by the amazing team at the hospital. They even have Europe's first Cancer Therapy Unit for animals and also treat equine and farm animals. Please sponsor me in running this marathon as I know it will be emotional for all who know Barney, as he is a light in our life and hopefully we can raise money for those animals that still have a chance.
