Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 4 October 2015, we will be running in memory of our friend Simon Wake. Simon was a fellow runner - a very popular and active member of Strathearn Harriers. Irrepressibly cheerful, Simon loved hill running and we have many happy memories of laughter and long chats as we shared some favourite routes in the beautiful hills of Strathearn. It was shocking when Simon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away so soon afterwards. Simon is much missed by his many friends and clubmates and we hope to raise money in his memory to help fight this terrible disease. Whatever you can spare, your support is much appreciated and will make a difference.

The Glencoe marathon is a tough but rewarding challenge - 26 hilly miles with nearly 1700m of climb - through some of Scotland's most stunning scenery. We're training hard and really looking forward to the event. That weekend we will also be celebrating Doug's 50th birthday, and the marathon seemed a good way to mark this significant milestone!
