Story

On the 17th February 2017, just over a year ago,11 year old Charlie Jordan devastatingly lost his fight and closed his eyes to a rare form of an aggressive Brain Cancer: DiPG.

Charlie spent time at Brian House Children’s Hospice, on the Fylde Coast, with his last few days filled with the most love and compassion.

Brian House went above and beyond in caring for Charlie, and indeed his family, it truly is a wonderful place. Charlie, forever eleven touched so many hearts and continues to do so. Charlie's life will forever be celebrated and always remembered.

In 2017 A team of 4: Charlie's Uncle: Alan Howson, Daniel Stewart, Dawn & Mark Heatley ran the Hell Runner successfully in his honour, which is Briatins toughest, mentally and physically challenging half marathon challenge through Delamere Forest. The guys raised a nice bit of money for Brian House and had a lot of support behind them.

This year, 2018, a set of Alans work mates & colleagues decided for Charlie's anniversary this year should be bigger and Brian House need so much more funds to help other children and their families like Charlie. So in Charlie's name & honour Alan's friends spread the word and on October 13th, Alan now has a magnificent team of 111 people to captain running the Hell Run this year.

Charlie loved his superhero's & Team Charlie's Superhero Hell Runners 18 are now officially fully formed as a tribute to Charlie & will all be dressed as Superheros, each & every one of the Squads aim is to do Charlie, his mum and his family proud.

AND We need your help! We will be hosting a series of 11 events to mark each year of Charlies life, in order to hit our target of 11000K. There will also be other little events and fundraiser activities in addition directly organised by the runners. Why £11,000 - because Charlie was 11 when passed away.

We appreciate times are hard in the current financial state - but lets take a minute and appreciate how lucky we are and do what we can to help others and such places like Brian House that are dependant on us.
Brian House not only care for the sick children, they care for the families and friends affected. That care also extends to ensure families are well supported and their wellbeing is paramount after sad passings arise through various pathways including counselling services.

We would love you to sponsor us not matter how much that be - every penny really does count. We are eternally grateful for your support.
