I will be holding a Charity Dinner on Saturday 14^th March 2015 to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and CLAPA and also to try and help raise the profile of Cleft Lip and Palate on the Isle of Man.

 I have been inspired to hold this dinner as in April 2014 my son Oliver was born with a Cleft lip. Before Oliver’s arrival we were completely unaware that our child had this condition and with this being a small Island the awareness and frequency of this condition is very limited. The surgery to correct his lip was undertaken in Alder Hey and as you can see from the attached pictures the results are outstanding.  The professionalism and caring nature of the hospital is quite inspirational and I thought it would be fitting to hold this Charity Dinner to try and give something back to a hospital and CLAPA that has, and will continue to have, children as its best interest.

Further to this Charity Dinner, I will also be participating on a course in the United Kingdom to become fully trained as an Island contact for other parents and children with this condition as support and Knowledge in this field, is as I have said, very limited.
