Event: DIFC London to Brighton Cycle 2017, on 17 September 2017
We provide specialist help and support to transform lives of children who stammer

Story

I have previously abseiled from the ArcelorMittal Orbital Tower on 24th June 2017, run the Caterham Rotary 10K on 23rd July 2017 and participated in the DIFC London to Brighton cycle ride on 17th September 2017.

After taking 2018 off, I am now participating in Ride Reigate and doing the 50K route on 7th July 2019.

My son Jakob has a stammer which he has received speech therapy for, however he still has what he calls his 'bumpy words' but is happy with his speech currently. He has to overcome his challenge every day on multiple occassions which provides me the inspiration to take on multiple challenges just like he does.

When I came across the charity Action for Stammering Children I never had any question over who I would want to raise money for. I am loving that I am able to help them with their work to assist children like my son Jakob who are not as fortunate with their speech.

A stammer is a terrible thing to overcome and have the confidence to talk to people and make friends. It can also be heartbreaking as a parent to see your child struggle in this way.

I really hope people can help by sponsoring me any amount they can.

About the charity

ASC aims to give children and young people who stammer across the UK the same opportunities as their peers. Through the generosity of our supporters, we are able to fund specialist therapy, our helpline, and train more speech and language therapists in stammering.
