Story
OK Music Trust works across south and west London to provide affordable music therapy to the most marginalised members of society and making a meaningful difference to their lives.
And with your help, I would like to raise much needed funds, so it can run additional services in 2019 and 2020, focusing particularly on helping children with additional needs and disabilities, as well as young adults who are struggling with their mental health.
The charity is close to my heart because I have seen the difference it has made to my son Alex, who has severe learning difficulties. Music connects us all and I have seen how music therapy has brought him happiness, built his confidence and helped him develop his potential.
And Alex is not alone. Each year the charity touches hundreds of lives - children like Alex, children with autism, young adults with mental health issues and older people suffering from dementia. Music and music therapy can help them find themselves, to remember, to develop a skill, to build the confidence to perform, and to be happier.
The charity operates on a shoestring, has a long waiting list of people it can't currently help because it doesn't have the funds to do so, and every penny it receives changes lives. And I want to help it do more, for more.
Any donation you make will make a difference. Do help if you can.
Thank you!
