In early 2017 my wife Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a very difficult time but the help and advice provided by the Fountain Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford helped us move through the treatment phase in a positive manner.

The Fountain Centre is an independent charity for cancer patients, their families and carers offering advice, counselling and complementary therapies. They are fully reliant on fundraising and donations to continue providing these amazing services. Charities such as this enable patients and their families to come to terms with cancer and most importantly offer compassion and empathy when it is most needed.

With this in mind, myself and a group of close friends are running the Surrey Half Marathon on March 11th. A few of us have done this run before, whilst for some it's the first time. We are all committed to doing the best we can with the aim of raising as much as we possibly can for this excellent charity.
