The Breck Foundation’s mission is to educate young people how to keep safe when using the internet. Through education and awareness we teach young people that their relationships online are not like real life friendships, that they should not disclose personal information and never arrange to meet with someone who has befriended them online alone and in a private place. We do this by sharing the real life story of Breck Bednar, a 14 year old boy from Caterham who was tragically groomed online and lured to his death in February 2014.

When Breck transferred to St Bedes he was put on a table with us and his old school friend, the four of us had to sit on this table every morning and lunch 5 days a week. All the boys in our form were really close spending nearly every form and lunch time together playing games and having a laugh and I could safely say I think of a lot of us would consider those days to be some of the best in our lives so far. From the second he joined Breck fit in perfectly and within weeks it felt like he had been there the whole time, he bought what can only be described as a unique and warm sense of humor with him and if you had the privilege of meeting him even you know exactly what we are talking about.

What happened to him can only be described as a tragedy, one that effected the lives of everyone he touched so when we found out that we could help raise money for The Breck Foundation and help his legacy live on whilst helping make sure what happened to him never happens again, the decision was a no brainer.

Anything you can do to support us and help his legacy live on is greatly appreciated, not only by us, but by all the students and teachers who are made more aware of dangers possessed by the internet through the work great The Breck Foundation do.

As an added incentive  if our goal is reached we will dye our hair.
