Story
Boxing Day 2008 after a few too many glasses of wine I was challenged to run the Bognor Prom 10k the following summer. I took up the challenge and now in October 2009 I have run the Bognor Prom 10k, Arundel 10k, Petworth 10k and the Fishbourne Flat 5 races, and lost almost 2 stone along the way!
Now I do use the term "running" quite loosely, as my style is somewhat unique. My floppy hand technique resembles some sort of kangaroo impersonator when viewed head on, while my shuffling feet are more familiar on an escaped patient in a dressing gown than a highly trained athlete at the peak of his game!
This Sunday 25th October I am entering the Bupa Great South Run which is a 10 mile road race around Portsmouth and Southsea. My longest ever run is 7.5 miles, so technically if I manage to finish on Sunday it will be a World Record! And the floppy hand will be introduced to the world through the magic of Channel 5 television.
I would be very greatful if you would sponsor me for this challenge. I am running for the Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Thank you
Chris
