In memory of Christopher Bruney
SToRMS: Implementing Strategies To Reduce Male Suicide.

Story

We have set up this JustGiving page in memory of Christopher Bruney - an amazing son, brother, boyfriend and friend to many.

Many of you will know Chris as the confident, bright, energetic fun loving young lad that he was and he will always be remembered for bouncing around with his cheeky beaming smile wherever he went.

His passing came as a shock to everyone that knew him and highlights the clear need for awareness to be raised about the dangers of gambling addiction in young men and the impact on mental health; and so this is what we hope to achieve. The donations will also be used to give much needed support to young people who are in a similar position and are also battling mental health issues.

We are fundraising to support a local group of charitable Sheffield organisations who have agreed to work with each other and with us, to help raise awareness about the issues that affected Chris and giving young people information about the help available.

They are:

Interchange Sheffield which provides counselling and support to young people up to 25 yrs (www.interchangesheffield.org.uk)

STORMS, Dan Mcallister Foundation which raises awareness and works to prevent suicide in young men in particular (http://stormsdmc.org)

CRUSE which provides bereavement counselling for all ages (http://www.cruse.org.uk/Sheffield-branch)

Thank you for any donations!
