Mental Health Concern provides life-changing support to improve mental health and wellbeing. Compassion and a focus on recovery is at the heart of all we do, and together with our sister organisation, Insight Healthcare, our specialist services support thousands of people each year. While our core funding comes from contracts with the NHS and local authorities, your kind donations go into our Extra Mile Fund for creative projects and activities to further enrich the lives of the people we serve.

I was very fortunate to be selected to take part in the Great North Run via a ballot not long after I started my employment with Insight Healthcare. I started my running with a few Race For Life challenges several years ago and have completed many parkruns in addition to volunteering for them.

I very much appreciate the opportunity to take part in the Great North Run and know I will enjoy the whole experience. I generally enjoy training but always find jogging and running a challenge - it doesn’t come easy to me! I do however appreciate the feel good factor after exercise. I think any exercise we do helps our mental health. Please support me and our worthy cause.
