Hi,

I have been growing may hair for the last 18 months and I am going to have it cut all in the name of charity! I am asking you to donate as little or as much as you can. I am doing this in Maya's memory to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation to donate vital funds and raise awareness of this devastating disease.

I will be having my hair cut at the beginning of July. I will be having it cut up to my shoulders, about 14 inches to be taken off. The hair that is cut off I am going to donate to a charity that make wigs for children with cancer.

Maya was my friends daughter and was just 21 months old when she died from meningitis. If we can raise enough awareness so that one family does not go though the same heartache that Maya's family have gone through, then Maya would not have died in vain.
