Story

Ride The BoS – conquer the elements is a cycle challenge that was inspired and developed by the Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Scarborough 2013/14. Combining their ambition to visit every community in the borough during their mayoral year they put together a road based route of 190 miles, taking in 94 towns, villages and hamlets and 17,000ft of climbing along the way. Ride the BoS 2017 is a rounded version of the original route.

I will be joining the annual event and riding from 12th May to Sunday the 14th of May 2017 and I am seeking sponsorship for my efforts. All of the money I raise will go to the Ride the BoS chosen charity which is Springhead School

Springhead School is an all-age specialist school for cognition and learning – it is a community special school based in Scarborough. They admit pupils aged 2 – 19yrs with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, which include moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties and disabilities which may also include autistic spectrum condition, physical or sensory needs and social / emotional and mental health needs.

.

Springhead school have already raised funds to buy specially adapted bikes for their students but need our help to enable them to raise the funds for an extra bike that will be specifically adapted for wheelchair users so they too can enjoy and take part in the cycling experience.

The bike has been specially modified to carry a wheelchair. The cost of the bike is £4,400.00 (ex. VAT) + £1500 for the electric assist.

I hope that you will be able to support our cause and help us raise the funds needed for the children of Springhead School, enabling them to be included in the cycling community. Whatever amount you can raise would be gratefully received.
