Land's End to John O'Groats is the UK's iconic End to End journey. Most LEJOG cyclists cover the 874 mile route in a few days; the fastest female rider did it in less than 52 hours. I shan't be troubling the record books: I plan to take a month to cover a 1,200 mile route that I have planned myself and will pedal almost entirely solo. I'm doing the ride for my own reasons, and had not intended to seek sponsorship, but I've been persuaded that it would be a shame not to take the opportunity to raise funds for a good cause. I've chosen Rewilding Britain, a relatively young charity whose objective is simple but far from straight-forward: to reverse the decline in nature and restore this country's ecosystems. It feels like a no brainer to me. It also seems apt for a human-powered journey through some of the UK's most beautiful countryside. I've set a fundraising target of £1 per mile. I hope you can support this vital cause. As the charity put it themselves, "Rewilding offers hope for wildlife, for humanity, for the planet.
