Story
Gulp. I’m running the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April 2019. Definitely not words I ever thought I would say.
To say that running has never really been my thing is a massive understatement. The words “cross country” still fill me with dread and three months ago I couldn’t run a mile. Turning my attention to the meagre task of running 26.2 miles is shaping up to be a pretty huge personal challenge.
BUT….as the runs keep coming, and the miles rack up, something strange is happening. I think I might be starting to enjoy it!
I have chosen to run for Womankind - a charity which I believe in passionately as it improves the lives of women and girls around the world.
Here is where I ask for your support - I would love it if you would just think of me on Marathon Sunday or even cheer me round the course, perhaps sharing a glass of something together afterwards….details
to follow.
Better still I would love it even more if you felt able to make a contribution to Womankind. Your support will get me through my training miles, over the finishing line and most importantly it will improve lives.
Thank you.

Womankind is a global women’s rights organisation working to end the discrimination, poverty and violence faced by women and girls every day, just because they are female.
Womankind has a vision of a world where the rights of all women are respected, valued and realised. Please help us to:
- End all forms of violence against women and girls – it occurs in every country in the world, affecting 1 in 3 women in their lifetime
- Achieve economic autonomy for women – with independent income comes greater control over their own lives
- Give women an equal influence and ability to exercise political power, allowing them to take part in decisions that impact their homes, communities and countries
