Story
In 2016 I travelled with a team out to Bogota, Colombia to volunteer in an amazing children's home for rescued street children. To raise funds for that trip I was inspired to run my first marathon, aged 60! I was overwhelmed with the generosity of people and saw first hand how far money can go out there. The money raised back in 2016 helped us transform the children's play area and also take them for an amazing day trip to a water-park.
The work carried out in Bogota by a Geordie ex-pat and his American wife, to rescue children off the street and educate them is simply inspirational. This July I am going back as part of a small team to spend my summer holidays building a new extension (literally building). I am looking forward to the trip and determined to raise as much money as possible before hand.
Because of my day job working for Zero carbon Futures, I have been tasked to fund Solar panels on the roof once it is built. I am organising a large sponsored energy lecture in Newcastle along with other activities, however; I would like to ask that if you would like to support my work any donations would be gratefully received.
Thank you in advance. I can guarantee your donations will be put to amazing use.
