Story
This page is to raise sponsorship to help Kelly Owen and her running buddies get to the finish of the Bristol 10k taking place on 5 May 2013, in memory of Kelly’s 12-year-old daughter, Abigail, who died at Bristol Children’s Hospital on 10February 2013 following a sudden brain haemorrhage at home. Her death has devastated Kelly, her dad, Mark, sister Jennifer (10) and brother Joe (5), as well as all their family, and deeply shocked and saddened friends and the local community.
Kelly says: “Abigail was a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. We know that she loved to raise money for charity and having seen the value of the work done at the Bristol Children's Hospital during our short time there, we know that this is the right cause. Some families are there for weeks at a time, trying to manage their lives and be by their sick child’s bedside. The funds raised by the Wallace & Grommit Appeal (http://www.grandappeal.org.uk/) directly funds the equipment in the intensive care unit, which Abigail needed, and other vital areas of the hospital. While it didn't save Abigail’s life, despite every effort and care by the amazing team of nurses, doctors and consultants, it gave us a few precious days to sit with her and tell her how much we love her. We know the staff at the hospital would be hugely grateful for any donation given.
This page will be for all donations no matter how small. Thank you to all who have already donated in her memory, it really means the world to us.”
