Story

Wetwheels was conceived and founded by disabled yachtsman, Geoff Holt back in 2011. Now there are 5 boats taking collectively approximately 5000 disabled people a year out on the water each year! This campaign is specifically to support Wetwheels Solent and Wetwheels Hamble based in Hampshire. The boats have been custom-built by Cheetah Marine on the Isle of Wight with twin Suzuki 300hp engines. They are fully accessible with specially trained crew to ensure beneficiaries are active participants, rather than simply passengers, with everyone having the opportunity to steer the vessel, participants can learn seamanship alongside their peers, friends, and families. It is a shared experience and is truly inclusive helping to improve aspirations and increase confidence. We believe all disabled people of all ages, but especially those with the most profound and complex disabilities should have the right to experience the sense of freedom and independence that being on the water brings.
