Hi Everyone, my names Crystal and I am a Burns survivor. I was burnt on the 30th of September two years ago and have since started advocating mental health and body image. As October is mental health awareness month and burns awareness day is the 17th of October I would like to raise money to help an important charity (CBT - Children’s Burns Trust) who support young people such as myself cope with the traumatising experience of being burnt. I have suffered from poor body image and PTSD because of my accident but one of things that helped me was positive symbolism. The ladybird became my symbol of recovery so to raise money for charity I will dress up as a ladybird, on the 18th of October, for the day, to show people that it’s okay to be and look different from everyone else.
