Cycle 4 Heroes
Hi Everyone,
thank you for for visitiing my fundraising page and i hope you will be able to join me and hundreds of others as we cycle through the wonderful Kent countryside in support of Help for Heroes. I have been fund raising for Help for Heroes for more than 7 years and in that time i have raised £342,000 and have seen for my own eyes what that money has done to improve the lives of our Servicemen and women who have given so much for our country. In those 7 years i have organised more than 70 events including golf days, cabaret evenings,theatre nights, quiz nights, black tie dinners and many more in support of Help for Heroes. I have also taken part in several challenges including 6 Big Battlefield Bike Rides. One of my great passions is for cycling and i have had it in my mind for a few years to organise a major sportive that had the potential to raise a lot of money for Help for Heroes and so Cycle 4 Heroes was born. Working with Mark Trott from I cycle events we have put together an event for up to 1000 cyclists.
The war in Afghanistan may be over, but for those who have suffered life-changing injuries, their battles are just beginning. We've estimated that, of the 220,560 individuals deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq between 2001 and 2014, up to 75,000 servicemen and women (and their families) may need our support in the future. We will not let them fight these battles alone.
Help for Heroes have been in existence for ONLY 7 years but in that time have raised more than £220 million, all of which has been spent or allocated for future projects. We have also donated £24 million and rising to more than 40 other organisation who are making a real difference to the lives of our wounded sick and injured.
I will be taking part in several cycling challenges to raise funds for Help for Heroes. In April i am taking part in the 160km Dunkirik-Roubaix one day ride, In June i will be taking part in my 7th H4H Big Battlefield Bike Ride. In August i will be competing in the Prudential Ride London, and then in September i will be taking part in the Hotchillee Alpine challenge where i will be cycling 350km in 3 days which includes 8000m of climbing over some of the major climbs featured on the Tour de France. To date i have personally raised more than £338,000 and i intend to continue until i raise at least £500,000. Please help me.
