Story
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me. Through your support I will have raised over £1,500 for BLESMA.
Been building up stamina and endurance so with 5 days to go it will be opportunities to have some final training sessions before "go for it" on Thursday morning. So far I've completed almost 1,000 - yes ONE THOUSAND - miles in training!
Any final donations will be most welcome and again Thank You to everyone who is backing me in my effort.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Thursday 29th September I will attempt a 62 mile Sponsored Hand Cycle on the SciFit machine in the fitness suite at Kneller Hall.
As a bilateral amputee, above knee with no prosthetic limbs, a conventional cycle is definitely out of the question. The purpose of undertaking this event is to raise money for BLESMA. I subsequently lost my legs as a result of being struck by lightning in 1982 whilst fulfilling Border Security duties on the border between Hong Kong and China.
Why 62 miles? – a mile per year for the birthday that will be celebrated the day prior to the event. Although the SciFit machine is in the fitness suite it models a route as may be encountered - including challenging hill climbs but no down hills for free wheeling you have to keep propelling all the time otherwise you come to a grinding halt!
