Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February this year, after a break of approximately 30 years, I decided to drag myself back into running.  As an incentive I've set myself a target of completing the Cardiff Half Marathon on 1st October in under 2 hours.

And as an added incentive I've decided to put all the pain that I'm going through to good use by raising funds for Brecon Mountain Rescue Team, a group of volunteers who are willing to drop everything & risk their lives to assist others, be it lost hillwalkers, injured climbers, missing people - anyone who needs their help.

They are funded entirely by donations, with each call-out costing on average £400.  My goal is to raise enough money to pay for a call-out.   Who knows, it could be the one that saves a person's life!

Please consider donating some money, even if it means missing out on your next cup of coffee or pint of beer.  ANY amount will be gratefully accepted, and your donation will be going straight to where it's needed.

Thank you.

We are a voluntary search and rescue team that undertakes well over 100 callouts per year. We assist people who are injured or lost in the mountains & rural areas of South & Mid-Wales. Our members are unpaid and we rely solely on fundraising to achieve the £55,000 needed each year to run the team.
