Story

Jessica was the youngest daughter of myself and her mum, Michelle, and sister to Sarah.

For a number of years she suffered from a very rare illness called "Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder" which meant her immune system was slowly attacking her body causing numerous disorders, all of which needed treating seperately.

It seemed that every time the hospital identified treatment for a particular disorder, a new one would appear leading to frustration whilst more tests were conducted, potential treatments identifed and then administered. This meant Jessica spent many days in hospital, both as an out and in-patient.

As the overall illness progressed, Jessica had her immune system constantly suppressed chemically which left her vulnerable to infections and many a time she would need emergency admission to hospital for treatment for an infection which most of us would conquer with a couple of paracetamol, but for which she needed intravenous antibiotics.

This tired Jessica but she always approached life stoically and with a smile. She had a full time job in an Ad Agency who supported her massively and her extended family were always about to lend a hand. Her partner Jordan, with whom she had recently set up home was her guiding light, and together they attempted  to live life to the full.

Unexpectedly, in the early hours of 8th September 2017, after having celebrated a pre birthday meal with her family, Jessica was taken to hospital after feeling unwell and within 12 hours she died of Sepsis,  her family at her bedside.

She was 10 hours short of her 27th birthday.

Jessica will be missed by so many.
