Story
Thanks for taking the time to look at my 2010 NYC marathon fundraising page.
My mum, Jackie Storer, died on June 3rd 2009 after a long battle with brain cancer. Mum valiantly fought her illness for over four years and remained positive until the very end. During mum's last few months she spent a couple of days a week at the Treetops Hospice, where she could take a break from being at home and engage in activities such as painting and massage therapies - these helped her relax and take her mind off her illness. The hospice also provided respite, advice and support to my dad during some very difficult times. Mum always said how much she enjoyed her time at Treetops and having just passed the first anniversary of her death, I wanted to raise some money to help the hospice continue to grow and prosper. Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received and put to good use.
Thanks and regards,
Dan
Treetops Hospice provides specialist palliative care to patients in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire who have life limiting illnesses such as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone disease, end stage Heart & Respiratory diseases and AIDS. Treetops Hospice is raising money for a new Care Centre which will enable the hospice to double its capacity and provide some 5,000 day care places each year to the local communities of Nottingham and Derbyshire.
