Fundraising for York Mind (Incorporating Our Celebration) Ltd
Story
On the 8th October I will be running the Yorkshire Marathon for York Mind.
York Mind is an independent provider of high quality mental health services in York and its surrounding area.
It's not all just about the money raised, it's about awareness as well.
1 in 4 of us will be effected by mental health this year alone.
I became aware of mental health and the problems people can have with mental health in 2013 when I found out one of my best friends, Tristan, was suffering from depression it came as a shock to all as he was the happiest, funniest most fun loving person I knew and probably will ever know. I had no idea at the time how to react or even what depression really meant, which is a massive problem that needs solving. Unfortunately his battle with depression was lost and since then everyone Tristan touched in his life has tried very hard to help his memory live on.
Just think if the money raised could could help one person for one minute, how good would that be?
York Minds wide range of services help individuals as they recover from a variety of mental health conditions. We are a leading local provider of services supporting individuals recovering from mental ill-health to achieve outcomes that will progress them towards recovery, social inclusion and integration in mainstream activity such as learning, volunteering or employment.
They believe that the condition does not define the individual. To that end, we campaign to raise awareness of mental ill health and combat the stigma surrounding mental health conditions.
York Mind aims to be an inclusive and accessible organization, emphasising the importance of acceptance and tolerance of the beliefs, opinions and wishes of our clients.
