This year I decided to set myself a goal as sitting around during lock down was getting depressing so I have committed to running a half marathon on the 4th July.  

To be totally honest, I would never have put the words 'Dani' and 'running' in the same sentence so nobody is more shocked at the fact that I am doing this than I am.  I thought, since I am doing this, I want to make it worth while (and to give me motivation when I find it hard) and raise money to go towards the Shine for Shani fund.  A fund set up by my oldest and dearest friends , Juliet and Simon Berman, in honour of their little girl Shani who had a magic heart.  Tragically, Shani lost her life 5 years ago at the age of 5 because her magic heart was no longer strong enough to support this gorgeous, vibrant little girl whose smile used to light up a room.  All money donated will go directly to this charity which supports the wonderful work of Great Ormond Street hospital and other cardiac research projects in the UK and abroad in helping create life-saving technology for any other children with magic hearts.
