We provide a search & rescue service to assist those lost or injured in the hill

Story

Whilst in lockdown in Perthshire I have been working my way through all of the Perthshire Munro, Corbett, Graham and Donald Hills (along with the significant sub-2000’s). With this task growing closer to completion I have decided to set myself a new challenge.

Every time I have set off to climb a hill, I have been conscious that if something went wrong, I may need to rely on the volunteers of Tayside Mountain Rescue to potentially save my life. These people volunteer their own time and safety to help others, so I thought the least that I could do is help raise some funds to ensure they have the right equipment and training to carry out their essential service and keep them safe whilst doing so.

To do this I propose to run a half marathon everyday in May. That’s 31 half marathons in 31 days. That’s over 406 miles in one month. If you would like to support myself and Tayside Mountain Rescue, please consider a small donation. Any amount will make a difference. Thank you.

About the charity

The main activities of the charity are search and rescue of missing or injured persons in the hills of Tayside Region and beyond, the provision of training and equipment for the mountain rescue team members and the raising of funds to support such activities.
