Story

UPDATE: We have the green light to go ahead with last years challenge. The new date is the 2nd July all being well.

In 2019 we are proud to say with your amazing generosity and support with donations, a sponsored slim (Shay Proctor) and of course the very testing “Coast to Coast” cycle ride were we managed to raise £25,000 towards the Darby / Rimmer Foundation to fight MND.

This July we are all at it again and we will be attempting to start and of course finish “The Way Of The Roses” cycle ride 180 miles approx (we normally get lost) from Morecambe to Bridlington. The usual suspects are taking part Kevin Hunter, Paul Bailey, Ross Murdoch, Paul and Steve Barnett, Tony Morris, Dave Cutts, Chris Caulton, Phil Parkinson, Tim Breaker & Steve Parkin and new participants Nigel Medlam, Sam Medlam and our Landlord (Sherwood Ranger) John McClune. Logistics managers Paul O’Neill and Graham Bonser will again keep us on the straight and narrow. We aim to complete our challenge in two and a half days as we are all in our fifties I’m sure you’ll agree it’s worth a few quid just to put us through the pain barrier again.

We are all so proud of Stephen Darby because of his determination and dedication to not only fight his own disease but raise as much money as he can to help others fight it, he’s truly inspirational.

In 2019 we felt a huge responsibility to finish the “Coast to Coast” because of your incredible support and sponsorship. We need that pressure on us again, so please donate to help people deal with this terrible disease. Any amount small or large will be greatly received.

Stephen Darby’s aim is to help as many people as he can with MND and so is ours.

Yours Gratefully

Steve Parkin
