I have been recruiting in the Maritime industry since October 2010. I have been lucky enough to work with some great candidates and some great clients. I have also seen the struggles of so many people in our industry and this is a small way I feel I can give back. 

Being a member of the Merchant Navy Welfare Board, I see the great work Seafarers UK do firsthand.  From looking after our much needed Seafarers' Centres to providing grants for the refurbishment of care homes for retired seafarers. They even donate large amounts of money to other seagoing charities such as Apostleship of the Seas and The Sailor's Society.

Seafarers UK are one of the most important charities when it comes to the UK's maritime audience and we need to support them as much as possible so that we can further support those who work in such a harsh and (at times) un-rewarding environment. 

I am running (walking/dragging myself through) the London Marathon next year and I hope you will all reach into your pocket and spare just a little bit of change to help this wonderful charity.
