Thank you, Moscow and all the remarkable characters I have met here, that has changed me for better or worse from the unwitting 25-year-old that arrived at Sheremetyevo back in March 1992. Of all the extraordinary characters I have met in half a lifetime here none were more distinguished and impression forming than my best friend John Roche (1949-2015) a man with an almost clinically obsessiveness for fairness to everyone, unkindness or egoism were the few things that made him irate.

The collection 'Thank You, Moscow' is dedicated to John who managed to find a great deal of beauty in Moscow particularly in its people. John was an active supporter of the Tanganka Children’s Fund and proceeds from the sale the publication on amazon.co.uk will be forwarded to 'Love Russia' who also give assistance to orphans and disadvantaged people in Russia.
