Story
Dear all in a few weeks time I will be setting foot on the famous streets of London to run my first Marathon. I am runnng for Plymouth Sports Charity who for over 10 years have been providing a service to the communities of Plymouth and surrounding areas. One of their motto’s is ‘We fight loneliness! We MOTIVATE, INSPIRE AND SUPPORT vulnerable adults and disadvantaged children to not become isolated.
This fund raising will go towards helping them set up their next project of working with ‘young dementia’ sufferers and families. To name a few things they already run; active play in primary and secondary schools, first aid courses, first into sport coaching courses and they already run boccia and new age curly to the elderly. The money raised from my run will help set up a scheme to support people as young as 45 to help them stay healthy and active as possible whilst suffering from dementia. Alzheimers UK state that 225,000 people will get dementia this year, so although this project will not be able to prevent people from getting this, it will help those with the symptoms find some small enjoyment and keep active.
Please help me to raise money for this project and also to give me the extra motivation that I will need on the day.
Many thanks
