Fundraising for Service Dogs UK
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m competing in my very first long distance Triathlon race on the 29th July. The challenge I have is to swim 2.4 Miles, Cycle 112miles and to top is off complete a marathon 26.2miles.
I thought it be a great opportunity for me to raise some money for a charity that is very close to my heart.
Those who know me well, will know I joined the army when I was 16 and ended up deploying to Iraq 3 times. I was one of the lucky ones that made it home safe. Coming home after going though and seeing what we did isn’t easy. I will openly admit that I went to some dark places and went though dark time. However thanks to a loving family and awesome friends, Iv come out the other side.
One of the best things I did was getting my Husky Kody, (even when he’s been naughty) just having him there to look after and even talk to. (knowing that he probably hasn’t a clue what I am on about) He helped me take my mind away from things I wanted to forget and talk about stuff I felt I couldn’t talk about to anyone.
On this connection I want to raise funds for Service Dogs Uk, I ask you to help me and donate, even if it’s just a little. The charity trains and provides PTSD Assistance Dogs, selected carefully from mainly rescue, to support members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services (including Coast Guard & RNLI) who have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Because Life is Better with A Dog…
Help bring a dogs love into someone’s life that is stuffing with the nightmare of PTSD like my Kody did for me.
