Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Great Uncle enlisted early in The Great War into our county regiment Princess Louise's Argyll and Southern Highlanders.

He served in the Argyll's and latterly the Army Cycling Corps, a mobile reconnaissance and communications corps established using specially commissioned equipment to work closely to the lines to provide intelligence and convey messages to command.

I believe that he died taking part in the final push of the war and on 5th October 1918, he was killed in action.   He is buried at Busigney cemetery in France near the Belgian border. Today it is a peaceful spot. Then it was in the edge of the front lines.

This fund raising is to both raise awareness of the Argyll's Museum at Stirling Castle and charitable causes but also to remember him.

Thank you.
